MY STYLE

MY STYLE

I have
this way ofwriting.
Short
and sweet,
cropped
and chopped
to stab you
directly
in your heart,
your brain,
to inject
my thoughts
into your veins
so that you may
feel
think
experience
what it is
that my words
have to offer.

There are others who have a much more
prosaic style of expression.
Every sentence is a work of art
guarenteed to teach some lesson
of the heart, or the mind, maybe even
the soul ... they pour themselves onto
paper, hoping to reap the benefits
of waiting and reading and deciphering
the letters, the words, the lines.
These poets search for intonation
and they dig, an exploration
into the psyche, into love, into the forces
that have greater ramifications
than even they can dream about ...

But I digress ...

Here I am,
all that I am.
I can lift you,
let you crash
and burn amidst
your own ruins
only to lift you again
so that you can see
once and for all
what it is really like
to fly.

And that --
is my style.

Miss Lilli

I went to see my granddaughter, Lilliana Riley Wooten, today for the first time. She is so beautiful, and I was so sad. I feel like I have been robbed of the joy of being a grandmother ... but that is my feeling, not a reality ...

POEM FOR LILLI

God smiled
and gifted the world
with a little girl
a sweet feminine soul
wrapped in pink
grey eyes
so intelligent
seeking a reality
behind mine.

God laughed
and graced the world
with a brand new soul
a soft, angelic child
dancing in pink
small hands
so trusting
grasping onto
my own.

God sighed
and breathed into the world
new life
a loving spirit
bathed in pink
sweet presence
simply reminding me
that all love
is mine.

Beach ...

Went to the beach last night just on a whim ... slept with my beloved in the back of a truck, listening to the waves and the breeze... then got up at sunrise, new again.
